Sevilla, 2017

Seville was my introduction to Andalusia, and a wonderful introduction it was. The Alcazar and cathedral were fabulous. I was enchanted with mosaics and decorations in the Alcazar, plus the beautiful gardens, which were a lovely retreat in the heat of the day. we also visited the Bull ring, the Plaza de Espana, site of the 1929 Iberian-American exhibition, where the tiles in each pavilion were more fabulous then the one before. And, there were some lesser known sites including the amazing Palacio de Lebrija and Casa de Pilatos (private palaces), the Museo de Bellas Artes, churches housing extraordinary Holy Week and Corpus Christi floats. One day we went across the river to explore factories manufacturing glazed tiles.
