The Delaware River passes through a gorge/valley near the intersection of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. Here the Delaware is broad and shallow, greatly loved by kayakers and floaters. I spent a few days in this area with friends who rented a house on the banks of the river. I spent part of an afternoon organizing clouds. One afternoon we rook a hike near the village of Hawks Nest along the banks of a roaring trout stream. Wildflowers, including Michaelmass daisies, goldenrod, cardinal flowers brightened the trail. The trail, alas, ended at a cemetery, not the dest ending for a hike.
