A long weekend on Cape Cod turned out to be windy, chilly a damp. Mornings began bright and sunny, but gave way to rain. We managed one long walk on the beach and ended up spending most of the time indoors. Rhododendrons were at their peak, along with viburnum, lilies of the valley. One rainy afternoon was brightened by a glassblowing exhibition in Sandwich. A meteorite fell into the bay while we were eating in Wellfleet, but there was also a furious rainstorm, so we missed the drama of escaping something falling from the heavens.
