This is a lovely mid-winter getaway with my sisters. Tricia found a five bedroom house on Nevis, a few minutes walk from the beach and in the shadow of the volcano that dominates Nevis. God willing, we will climb the volcano before we leave. Travel was long, leaving Hartford at 5:30 in the morning, and an irritating delay on the tarmac in Miami. The approach to St Kitts was beautiful passing over Saba. In luggage retrieval I ran into a former parishioner also vacationing on St Kitts. A taxi, ferry and second taxi brought us to the house on Nevis. The first dinner was at a nearby restaurant where we had lobster, various fishes and an amazing coconut cake.
