Athens, Day 2

A busy day today. We walked to Syndagma (Parliament) Square and saw the guards known as the Evzones with the big pompoms on their feet, and then through the botanical garden to the ruins of the Arch of Hadrian and Temple of Olympian Zeus, which took 600 years to build and now is reduced to a dozen or so columns. Much of the day was spent in the superb Acropolis Museum. Late in the afternoon we climbed the Acropolis, grateful there is always a stiff breeze.
