    A few days in New York with perfect spring weather. Some photos of Rockefeller Center, still in Easter finery, St Patrick’s Cathedral, and a few shots of the Morgan Library, which had an exhibition on the life and works of Mozart.

    Central Park was about as lovely as I have seen it: many wildflowers and trees blooming, lots of people enjoying the day, children sailing boats and many happy dogs.

    The Raphael exhibition at The Met is a must-see. In addition to paintings there were many of Raphael’s sketches, as well as a few large tapestries woven from Raphael’s cartoons.

    A few days in May in New York followed by some time on Cape Cod. in New York there were the usual visits to The Met (the Sargent exhibition), The Morgan library, and the reopening of The Frick Collection. At the Met I saw John Adams’s new “Antony and Cleopatra”.

    New York City in the fall is always great fun. I spent several days in the City at The Met (Painting in Siena 1300-1350), lots of familiar painters. And a visit to The Morgan Library and then the annual investiture of the Order of St John.
