Our driver and guide Theodore picked us up at Piraeus after we disembarked from the ship and we literally drove into the mountains. Just now I am in the shadow of Mount Parnassus, home of the gods. Tomorrow we will wander Delphi, but from my hotel room I have a view of the gulf of Corinth. We stopped first in the village of Livadhia, which centers around rushing ice cold springs that come out of the depths of the mountain. A highlight of the day was the Unesco World Heritage Site Osios Loukas, a 10th century monastery. It was a beautiful, restful complex of two churches and several monastic buildings. From there, on through Arahova and on to Delphi.
